Portland, USA anti-racists Rally Against the Neo-Nazi “Hammerskin Nation” Gang

As white supremacists plan a three-day gathering to be held in the greater Portland area from October 5 – 7, community members and anti-racists throughout the Pacific Northwest will gather in response on what is scheduled to be Day Two of the “Hammerfest” hate festival. An anti-racist community gathering and rally will take place on October 6, starting at 1PM in Lents Park located on SE 92nd & Holgate. The rally intends to expose white supremacist groups in the Northwest, as well as to bring diverse communities together in a stand against fascist organizing and violence aimed at Jewish people and people of color, sexual minorities, and activists.

Gallows show support for LMHR

Gallows are nearing the end of the UK leg of their worldwide tour which saw Love Music Hate Racism stalls at key dates plus Lethal Bizzle as main support.

Last week saw celebrated young music video director (Mo Ali - Lethal Bizzle/Fish Go Deep and many more) shoot a videofor Roll Deep's song "Racist People" - which will also act as a promo for the LMHR campaign and inspire more music fans to join the fight to stop racism and the fascist BNP. Roll Deep penned the song after playing at LMHR's memorial concert for racist murder victim Anthony Walker, and premiered it at last year's LMHR Trafalgar Square carnival. The NASUWT teachers union this year agreed to fund a music video for the song as part of their support for LMHR. LMHR SCHOOLS CD GATHERS PACE - MORE ARTISTS ON BOARD, FIONN REGAN VIDEO HERE

As we announced before, lots of top artists are specially writing and recording exclusive material for the National Union of Teachers-supported LMHR CD that's appearing on the cover of the NME next month, aimed at involving more young people in particular in the campaign to stop the BNP. LMHR & NME have been recording many of these sessions, and here's the first short video with many more to follow. LMHR & UAF AT THE TUC

On Sunday 9th September Love Music Hate Racism and Unite Against Fascism staged a great night at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) conference in Brighton. Over 200 TUC delegates as well as people from the local area packed into Club Revenge to hear fantastic performances by longstanding LMHR supporters Adelaide McKenzie of Nu MC's - who got some of the trade unionists on stage with her for some freestyling! - and Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, along with trade union leaders and campaigners, who outlined plans for taking on the BNP in 2008's Greater London Assembly and local council elections.

Trade union leaders and campaigners will be speaking briefly between the acts to outline the UAF & LMHR campaigns to stop the fascist BNP around next year's Greater London Assembly and local council elections. The event is taking place at Brighton's Revenge club. Entry is free to TUC delegates, or by donation to everyone else.

UNITE AGAINST FASCISM FACEBOOK CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE BNP

The London Evening Standard is running a poll asking if the BNP should be allowed to be on the Facebook social networking site. Because many people are unaware of the poll, and fascists are encouraging their supporters to mobilise, it is currently showing 64% of in favour of the BNP staying on Facebook.
