The Race Equality Centre in Leicester is hosting a free conference for youth aged 13 – 19 years. Through a number of interactive workshops and debates, the conference aims to give young people an opportunity to: a. explore the impact of racism on their lives b. receive information about sources of support and help, and c. develop skills to be able to support their friends when encountering racial harassment. The conference will also incorporate a showing of a DVD supporting young people’s right to challenge racism developed by the “Love Music Hate Racism” campaign, followed by a specific workshop led by one of the “Love Music Hate Racism” artists and campaign workers.
