We have been informed that the BNP is holding a public meeting in Southey in Sheffield on Wednesday 16th July at 7pm. We urge supporters of the campaign to stop the BNP to join our peaceful protest. Please assemble at 6pm on Herries Road South opposite Hillsborough football stadium at the junction of Rawson Spring Road. Rebel music: RAR to LMHR Special Forum and Gig in Central London In the wake of the 100,000 strong LMHR carnival, we will be hosting a round table discussion of activists and musicians to discuss the role of music in the movement against racism and fascism at this annual event. The debate will include contributions from; Jon McClure, Lowkey, Roger Huddle (RAR) and others. The discussion will be followed by an exciting gig featuring a number of fantastic artists including; Mecca2Medina, Decypher Collective, Sean Taylor and DJ Rugrat.

Jamm, Brixton follows the national demonstration against the BNP with an after party in aid of the protesters…Love Music Hate Racism and Unite Against Fascism, Featuring; an early bbq and speakers outside the venue followed by an over 14’s showcase in aid of the cause till 9pm. Then on we go well into the night with bands and an exclusive dj set from BABYSHAMBLES plus a very special guest still to be announced courtesy of LMHR!

LMHR and Unite Against Fascism are calling a national demonstration and carnival parade against fascism and racism which will celebrate the diversity of our society and make it clear that racism and fascist organisations like the BNP will not be tolerated. There will be a march and carnival parade, with floats, marching bands, speakers and banners from every organisation opposed to the BNP's racist hate.

LMHR supporters from across the country will be gathering in central London on 1st March at Unite Against Fascism's national conference. Artists including Dirty Pretty Things and Natty will be taking part in a LMHR Q&A, in a session devoted to organising the 27th April Victoria Park Carnival. In recent months we've had loads of emails and calls from people wanting to get involved in LMHR in the North East. From Durham to Newcastle, Sunderland to Darlington there are loads of musicians, music fans, organisations and people who want We thought it might be an idea to try to introduce those of you who don't already know each other so you can support one another's events and activities, so ... On Saturday 13th January at 2pm, we're holding a LMHR get-together at Northumbria University Students Union - 2 Sandyford Road Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8SB.

Big LMHR supporters Jerry Dammers and Natty join a fabulous line-up completed by unique band The Bays and acclaimed modern jazz star Denys Baptiste for the 'Cultures of Resistance' gig at London ULU on Friday 7th December.

Convicted Holocaust-denier David Irving and BNP leader Nick Griffin, who has a conviction for inciting racial hatred, have been invited to address Oxford Union's free speech forum. Unite Against Fascism and Oxford University Students Union are campaigning to stop fascists being given a platform. We must ensure that we replicate the successful campaign which stopped Nick Griffin speaking at Bath University this May. The Oxford Union should not be providing a platform for fascist British National Party (BNP) leader Nick Griffin and Holocaust denier David Irving in the Free Speech Forum on Monday 26 November. Unite Against Fascism are calling the Oxford Union to rescind the invitations to Griffin and Irving and replace them with speakers that support freedom of speech. There is a world of difference between defending free speech and choosing to provide a platform for fascists. Show your support and say no to fascists in Oxford by attending UAF's rally around Oxford Town Hall on Tuesday 20th November at 7.30pm and Demonstration on the 26th outside the Oxford Union at 7pm.

LMHR are helping PCS to organise a "Party for Public Services" gig in central London's prestigious Scala venue, designed to bring together activists from PCS and other public sector unions with concerned members of the public and music fans to highlight the union's campaign in defence of jobs, pay, conditions and public services. A brilliant eclectic bill includes The Specials' Neville Staples, amazing gospel singer Adelaide McKenzie, MOBO-nominated grime/rap crew Roll Deep, and all-women rockers The Priscillas. £5 general admissions and £3 for PCS members

Linda Smith was a great comedian but was also a committed and passionate anti-racist and anti-fascist. All at LMHR were saddened to hear of her recent death. Linda's partner Warren was at the Hackney Empire RAR show in July and we are delighted to be able to help promote a cancer-awareness show that he is organising in Linda's memory. As one of three main speakers on the panel, LMHR would like to share tips and advice with young people on starting and running a campaign and will benefit greatly from the advice on how to identify, address and campaign on a range of issues.

This Sunday, September 9th, will see a very special joint LMHR/UAF event, taking place as part of the social events for this year's Trades Union Congress. The event will feature Get Cape Wear Cape Fly playing live, as well as Specials legend Jerry Dammers DJing, and another liver performance from the excellent Nu-MCs. Trade union leaders and campaigners will be speaking briefly between the acts to outline the UAF & LMHR campaigns to stop the fascist BNP around next year's Greater London Assembly and local council elections. The event is taking place at Brighton's Revenge club. Entry is free to TUC delegates, or by donation to everyone else.
