LMHR/UAF ANTI-BNP CAMPAIGNING IN ROTHERHAM

Love Music Hate Racism and Unite Against Fascism have agreed to start the anti fascist leafleting of Brinsworth and Catcliffe ward, Rotherham to encourage local people to join the camaign to isolate and defeat the BNP. Please join us in fighting the fascists once again in Rotherham.


STOKE DAY OF ACTION

Local people – including members of trade unions, community, faith and youth groups – will be coming together on Saturday 26th July to leaflet and talk with other people in the communities most affected by the threat of racism and fascism facing our city. Everybody concerned about this problem is urged to join us on the 26th.


THE ROAD TO VICCY PARK - LMHR CARNIVAL 08 SESSION @ UAF NATIONAL CONFERENCE

LMHR supporters from across the country will be gathering in central London on 1st March at Unite Against Fascism's national conference. Artists including Dirty Pretty Things and Natty will be taking part in a LMHR Q&A, in a session devoted to organising the 27th April Victoria Park Carnival. If you want to hear more about Carnival 08, pick up flyers and posters to promote the event where you live, and meet up with other people from your area who are involved in LMHR, the Conference is the place to be. LMHR are helping PCS to organise a "Party for Public Services" gig in central London's prestigious Scala venue, designed to bring together activists from PCS and other public sector unions with concerned members of the public and music fans to highlight the union's campaign in defence of jobs, pay, conditions and public services. A brilliant eclectic bill includes The Specials' Neville Staples, amazing gospel singer Adelaide McKenzie, MOBO-nominated grime/rap crew Roll Deep, and all-women rockers The Priscillas. £5 general admissions and £3 for PCS members


MAKE AN IMPACT CONFERENCE @ THE BRITISH LIBRARY

As one of three main speakers on the panel, LMHR would like to share tips and advice with young people on starting and running a campaign and will benefit greatly from the advice on how to identify, address and campaign on a range of issues.

CELEBRATE THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF THE BATTLE OF CABLE STREET

On the 4 October 1936, the people of the East End of London prevented Oswald Mosley and his British Union of Fascists from marching through Cable Street in Stepney, then a mainly Jewish area. This happened just three months after the start of the Spanish Civil War when people from all over the world went to Spain to fight General Franco and his fascists in a prelude to the Second World War. In Spain and in the East End the same slogan was used: NO PASARAN! THEY SHALL NOT PASS!
