9pm-2am, Thursday 20th February
The Dome, University of Greenwich, Avery Hill Road, Eltham, London SE9 2UG.

Organised by LMHR and University of Greenwich Students’ Union

This is the first in a series of planned LMHR events in the area. We hope to follow it with under-18s events and workshops and possibly a large outdoor event in the summer. The LMHR event is part of the Student Union’s Diversity Week.

Eltham’s been back in the news again recently for all the wrong reasons. In the area where Stephen Lawrence was murdered by Nazis, there’s been a spate of serious racist attacks over the last few months - and more evidence that the BNP are active once more just up the road from their old HQ in Welling, scene of the magnificent 60,000-strong anti-Nazi demo in 1993.

Local ANL supporters have been getting a good response talking to local people horrified by the racist violence that’s returned to the area. In addition, at the local Greenwich University, ANL members have been campaigning for the expulsion of an open and notorious BNP member, Lawrence Rustem. Rustem’s presence at the University is an insult to all its black, Asian and anti-racist students. The ANL is calling for Rustem to be expelled on the grounds of stirring up race hatred, a move supported by a recent mass meeting of Greenwich students.
