Love Music Hate Racism Proudly Present a Celebration of World Music

Northern Ireland is changing, never before has there been such an energy and vibrancy about us. There’s less fear in our walk and more optimism in our talk, and everyday more and more of us decide to make a life for ourselves, right here at home, where we want to be. Many of our parents and grandparents rarely felt like that, if they weren’t burnt out in the troubles, they were unemployed, living in extreme poverty or simply depressed because their home, the place they loved, was suffering, oppressed and economically crushed. Some left and never returned, others flitted back and forth between jobs, sending home what they could, but no one ever really wanted to leave.
Imagine that.
Here in the North we know only too well the pain of emigration. Now it’s time to embrace our new neighbors, learn something about them, from them, with them. Let’s celebrate our differences together, let’s exchange ideas, and when it comes to it unite and fight the bigots, and the myths that the system creates. Myths that turn the working classes against each other, that cause racial tensions, which break down communication.
So let’s celebrate all the new cultures that have chosen to come here. Let’s do it the best way we know, through Music.

Words of Endorsement from Eddie Kerr of SEEDS
‘SEEDS fully endorses the work of’ Love Music-Hate Racism’. United we can challenge racism and sectarianism in our communities and if we stand together in face of the bullies the message goes out, clear and precise. ‘Hands Off our Friends’ whether our friends are black, yellow, green, orange, bullied children and adults, gay, elderly, travelers, disabled, female or male. No one has the right to raise their hands to somebody else. If we stand together the message will be strong. No more hate crime’
