Punk Rock Xmas Fair

Stockport is to host the World’s First
PUNK ROCK XMAS FAIR
Bull’s Head pub, Market Place,
on Sunday December 10.
Three authors will be signing and selling their books
about punk rock at the fair.
David Nolan’s “I Swear I was There” tells the story of
the Sex Pistols’ two epic gigs in Manchester in 1976
that inspired the forming of bands like Joy Division
and The Fall. (For more info see

Stockport.
Ron Watts’s “Hundred Watts” is the tale of a life in
music promoting. Ron was the Pistols’ first promoter,
managed The Damned, and put on the first 100 Club
Festival. The foreword is by Glen Matlock. (For more

Alex Ogg’s “No More Heroes” is a comprehensive history
of punk. (For more info see www.myspace.com/alexogg ).
John Esplen from Overground Records
(www.overgroundrecords.co.uk) and VinylOn The Net
(www.vinylonthe.net) will be attending with several
stalls of CDs and vinyl. John’s specialisms are ’70s
punk, anarcho, early ’80s punk, and USA hardcore.
There will also be a punk disco until 11pm.
Event organiser Miles Barter said: “This is unique.
I’ve searched the internet and can’t find reference to
another Punk Rock Xmas fair anywhere else in the
world.
“The idea is for punks to get together for a Xmas
party.
“But anyone is welcome to buy a present for that
difficult mohican teenager, or forty plus aging rebel
in the family.”
Bands, promoters, anyone else welcome to attend and
sell their merchandise.
