The Motion Project is a multi-cultural and cross community initiative co-ordinated by “Beyond Skin”, a local organisation that uses the universal language of music to address racism and sectarianism. The Motion Project has produced a CD in Belfast featuring over 40 musicians from a range of ethnic backgrounds and locations across Northern Ireland. The CD is due for release on February 25th and its inspirational and creative sound highlights the organic nature and freedom of expression encapsulated by the various musicians involved.

Final band on the night is the incredible Talking Drum whose propulsive and distinctively African rhythms promise to mesmerize the Belfast audience with original upbeat Zimbabwean songs. They have left music fans spellbound at the Blues and world Roots Festival, Festival of World Cultures and Make Poverty History rally.

Little Hooks, an acoustic double act, have received much critical acclaim for their two albums that are full of gracefully gliding harmonies and soulful melodies. Theirs is a rolling folk sound that ebbs and flows from the subtly sublime to the tantalizing and toe tapping.

The culturally mixed five-piece Voyager began life in Belfast in 2004 with musicians form throughout Europe and New Zealand. They produce a sound drawing on their influences that ranges through rock, balladry and blues, have played various festivals and individual members are involved in the Motion Project.

“Hot Press Band of the Year 2002”, Indigo Fury, have won many fans by touring the length and breadth of the country and supporting names such as Ian Brown and The Thrills. Recently returned to the scene with a renewed energy and determination and their hotly anticipated third EP is due soon.

All of this plus as a wonderful world music set from DJ Stuart Bailie (BBC Radio Ulster) makes for one of the most significant gigs of 2006. Be a part of it!
