For the 37th episode of #speakupthursday we were joined by the Zimbabwean-British musician, Shingai. Well known as the lead singer and bass player of the Noisettes Shingai’s solo career has consisted of some incredible music and collaborations drawing from a vast array of sounds. We were happy to catch up with our old friend, listen to some of her new music, and hear her speak about her career thus far. Rolling Stone magazine referred to her as ’the new afrofuturist pop goddess’ and we think they are on to something.
